OMEN: Ha Seungwan

23 November - 21 December 2024

COHJU is pleased to present “OMEN”, a young Korean artist exhibition by Ha Seungwan, from 23 November to 21 December,2024.

Ha Seungwan was born in 1992 and is based in Gwangju, South Korea. He is a promising young artist who has attracted attention in the South Korean art scene, including participation in this year's Gwangju Biennale.

His subjects are familiar stories such as folktales and folk tales. Based on stories and myths from various periods and regions, he continues to draw dramatic and dynamic works that look like a scene from a comic or animation, incorporating his own unique perspective and interpretation.

In this exhibition, the title ‘OMEN’, he will present new works focusing on the existence of ‘monsters’, who have been positioned as a kind of ‘periphery’ or ‘other’ in society, and whose stories have been told. We hope you will take this opportunity to visit the exhibition.
