COHJU contemporary art is pleased to join Art Collaboration Kyoto, an art fair which takes place at Kyoto International Conference Center from October 27th to the 30th, 2023. In collaboration with guest gallery, Galleri Urbane in Dallas, we present a mixed booth featuring three artists, József Csató, Stephen D'Onofrio and Shinya Azuma.
Galleri Urbane
Galleri Urbane, located in the Design District of Dallas, Texas, is a contemporary art gallery founded in Silver City, New Mexico, in 2000. Since its founding, Galleri Urbane has advocated for the careers of contemporary, emerging and mid-career artists from across the United States and abroad, who share a the mission to innovate their media beyond traditional applications and conventions.
József Csató
József Csató (b. 1980) lives and works in Budapest, Hungary. He completed his study in the painting department of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2006.
Csató’s paintings often show everyday objects and life situations, which are sometimes traced back to ironic, other times banal and humorous transcripts.
Nature-inspired forms and motifs such as rocks and plants can be seen throughout the canvases, while hybrid figures resembling geometric shapes and purely fictional signs emerge constantly.
Stephen D’Onofrio
Stephen D'Onofrio lives and works in Philadelphia, United States. He received his BFA and MFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 2013 and 2016. His work is characterized by an interest in the home decor market, the mass commodification of art, and the generic visual language that accompanies commercial design.
